Note from the Editor-in-Chief
It is an honour and a privilege to present to you the first issue of the journal Palimpsest - East Delta University Journal of English Studies. This is a peer-reviewed journal with a distinguished Editorial Board and Advisory Board of academicians drawn from all over the world. The journal hopes to showcase the work of both established scholars and young researchers. In the first issue we have a wide variety of writings. We have an article on transimperial negotiations and cultural anxieties in the sensation novel and the adventure story by Professor Robert McParland of Felician University, USA, an article on the reversal of stereotypes in Alice Walker’s The Color Purple by Morshedul Arifin and Shah Ahmed of East Delta University, two articles on English Language Teaching, the first by Jimalee Sowell who is pursuing her PhD at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, USA, the second by Akteruzzaman and Javed Anwer of East Delta University, besides a book review. We hope our readers will enjoy this intellectual feast.
